Erik Karapetyan

Erik Karapetyan was born in Tbilisi on June 5, 1988. He finished secondary school N7. He also completed the violin course of Music school N21 named after Tsapadze. His first performance on stage was at the age of 7. At the age of 8 he started attending the Armenian state ensemble of song and dance where he was a soloist and toured Georgia and European countries. He also attended the Ensemble of Georgian folk music. In 2001 Erik participated in the festival “Crane” in Yerevan and won in the category “Best Performer from Abroad”. After finishing school in Tbilisi he moved to Yerevan and entered the Department of Pop-jazz of Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas. In 2006 he started cooperation with producer and composer Zara Petrosyan. Erik has given numerous concerts in Armenia and abroad and has participated in a number of TV projects – “Two stars”, “10+10”, “Mimino”, “Canticle of Canticles”, “Benefit”, etc. In 2007 Erik left for Bulgaria and took part in the International Music Festival “Discovery” and returned to Armenia with a victory . In 2007 at the musical festival “Voske Knar” (“Golden Lyre” ) he gained the prize “ Year Revelation”. In 2009 he released his first CD “ Du Imn es” ( “You’re mine ” ). In 2010 at “Top 10” Annual musical award of the Armenian Public Television with music video “La-la-le” he gained the award “The Best Music Video”. In 2021 Erik represented Armenia in “New Wave” International pop Contest-Festival of young performers and gained the prize “Sympathy of Audience”. In 2011 he won “The Best Singer of Year “ at the National Music awards. In 2011 at the award “Style Screen” he got the prize “The Stylish Singer of Year” In 2011 at the Dar 21 Channel musical award he gained “The Best Singer of Year “ and the song “Anirakan” became “Song of Year”. In 2012 at the “Top 10” musical award of the Armenian Public Television video “Anirakan” gained award “The Best Music Video” In 2012 Erik was a member of the Armenian jury in the “New Wave” international contest for young performers. In 2013 he won “Best song of the year” in the “World Armenian Entertainment “. In 2013 he won “Best singer of the year” in “Dar 21” music awards. In 2014-2022 he was also a member of the Armenian jury in the “Eurovision” song contest. In 2015 Eric’s big solo concert was held in Yerevan with Yerevan State Symphony Orchestra in Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex . In 2016 he released CD album “Tvoi Sledi”. In 2016 he started a world concert tour (USA, Europe). In 2016 he had his solo concert on March 5 ,Alex Theater in the United States of America. In 2016-2017 he was the Jury member of the international TV show “ X Factor”. In 2016 he won in the category “Best Live Concert” in “Pan-Armenian Entertainment Awards” in the United States of America. In 2017 he won “ The Best Song of the Year ” in “Pan-Armenian Entertainment Awards” in the United States of America. In 2017 he won “The Best singer of the Year ” in “The Armenian Music Awards ” in Paris. In 2018 he won “The Best singer of the Year ” in “Tsitsernak National Music Awards”. In 2020 he released his new album “ Siro Pandemia” ,(Pandemic of Love). In 2021 he won first place at the “The Masked Singer Armenia” TV competition. In 2022 he was the Jury-Mentor of the “Armenian Singer” TV competition. In 2022 August 8 he got married to Svetlana Ishkhanyan. In 2023 released the ‘Hanun Qez’ visusal album with 5 video clips . In 2023 he became ambassador of Pyunik FC. In 2023 November 3 his daughter Salome Karapetyan was born. In 2024 February 13 he had a live concert in Karen Demirchyan sport and concert complex with more than 10.000+ fans. In 2024 he was the Jury of the “The Masked Singer Armenia” TV competition. In 2024 he was the Jury of the New Wave Armenian national tour.
